priyamitraHi, I’m Priyamitra.

I work to maintain Wildmind’s web pages. I’ve been following Wildmind’s development since its inception.

When Bodhipaksa first came to live in the US we shared an apartment for a couple of years and developed a lasting friendship. At that time I’d already been meditating and studying the Buddhadharma for several years. I’ve since joined Bodhipaksa and Sunada as members of the Western Buddhist Order.

I was born and raised in rural New Hampshire. I’ve lived and studied in Canada, Scotland, and Montana. I’ve worn many hats over the years including professional software developer. I retired from that career and now live with my wife in Spokane, Washington as her house husband. My work with Wildmind meshes easily with my domestic duties. I still have plenty of time for meditation and dharma study. I’m also active in prison dharma service.

The most valuable benefit I’ve gained from meditation over the years is an increasing ability to ride the waves of life’s vicissitudes.

For me, meditation is a practice. It is something I feel I have to work at. It does not come easily. It is a challenge at times. But, I nearly always see results afterward. At minimum it provides greater perspective on life’s experience, at best, much greater understanding and peace.
