Self-compassion is at the heart of my teaching these days.

The retreat fees include food and accommodation, and they’re on a sliding scale.

Most us us have the habit of being unkind to ourselves. We talk unkindly to ourselves and often we sacrifice our own well-being in order to “get things done.”

This is not a meditation challenge requiring you do lovingkindness practice every day. It’s simply an opportunity, over the course of a 100 day period, to bring more lovingkindness into your life.

  • Appreciate that kindness is something that’s inherent in your being, and that it just needs to be nurtured

Free Bodhi!

Buddha Meditation mit WasserspiegelungOur Indiegogo campaign, Free Bodhi, is going well. We’ve raised over $13,000 of our $22,000 target, with six days to go.

Why are we raising funds?

Wildmind is raising seed-funding for a business manager post so that Bodhipaksa (a.k.a. Bodhi, a.k.a. Mr. B.) can be freed up from admin and spend more time teaching and writing.

One of the first fruits of the Free Bodhi project is Wildmind’s Year of Going Deeper which is a year-long program of free meditation events, spanning the whole of 2014.

If you’re new to the Free Bodhi fundraiser, we’re raising money to help Bodhipaksa be more effective in promoting meditation, by providing seed-money for a new admin worker at Wildmind. This new position will help free Bodhipaksa (Bodhi) up from day to day admin that gets in the way of writing and teaching.

Transforming self and world

dancerYears ago, when Bodhipaksa described what Wildmind was about, he expressed it along these lines: that our mission was to to benefit the world by promoting mindfulness and compassion through the practice of Buddhist meditation. Twelve years later, our intent is still the same.

Bodhipaksa wanted, and still wants, to have an impact on contemporary culture. He wants to show the benefits of meditation, and also make it easy for people to learn to meditate.
