the movement is called Terror Management Theory. They’ve done some fascinating experiments, a number of which I discuss in the book.

This article really resonated with me and has whetted my appetite for the whole book. However even this small extract has raised a question for me – I’m very curious to know which school of psychology you are referring to here:
