Sit : Love : Give

Portrait of beautiful young woman meditatingIt takes many hours each month to curate, write, edit, and post the articles you read here, and we also respond to many questions about meditation in the comments on our posts. If you appreciate and benefit from what we do, we’d ask you to consider making a regular donation.

Wildmind is able to be free of ads because of the support of our community’s kind donations.

Donations have also allowed me to take time out of my teaching schedule so that I can concentrate on writing and recording.

  • Anyone who contributes $15 or more monthly will receive copies of all digital products (ebooks, MP3s, and audiobooks) that we produce as long as the subscription continues.

We intend to set up a more extensive rewards program for our supporters in the near future.

We’re calling this project “Sit : Love : Give.” It’s what we do. We medite; we cultivate love; we try to influence the world for good through our website. And it’s what we hope you’ll do, too: meditate; cultivate love; give something back.

The content on Wildmind will remain free and open! This isn’t a paywall. It’s just an opportunity to show love, generosity, and solidarity with those who want to make the world a better place through the cultivation of mindfulness and compassion.

So please consider becoming a subscriber and supporting us with a recurring monthly donation of your choosing from $3 a month (what you might spend on one cup of coffee in Starbucks) to $80 a month (what you might spend on a meal for two people if you dine out in a fancy restaurant). All donations will help with our direct running costs — paying for web hosting, our internet connection, rent, wages, etc. More importantly, you’ll be directly helping us to reach hundreds of thousands of people with information about and instructions on meditation.

Thank you!
Bodhipaksa

The 28 day meditation challenge was a wonderful experience. Your teaching and guidance have been what was missing for me to take this on to a next level. Meditation is now part of my life again!
I’d like to contribute by donating to your organization. I do not want to use a paypal account and your site does not work for non US residents (selecting a US state is mandatory). Can you fix this?

Hi, Marie. Thanks for your willingness to make a donation. The trick is to select the country first — in your case Canada — and then the Canadian provinces will populate the provinces/states drop-down. Unfortunately the fields are presented in the wrong order, but we don’t design the software, unfortunately, or we’d switch it around.

All the best,
Bodhipaksa

Hello…

I´m writing from Merida-Yucatan in Mexico. I tried to complete the information requiered in paypal.com in order to support your excelent job but even if I choose “Mexico” the option for the state doesn´t work (only for US) and I don´t know what to do. For me is kind of hard to give you american dollars (my salary is in pesos…1 dolar is almost 15 pesos…enough to buy 1 liter of milk) and I´m a school teacher but I understand the importance of supporting your job and I´m really happy with all your letters and information from the web site (I even talked about it with other people).

Let me know what to do about the way of sending this donation…

Thank you, may all of you be well…

Hello, Ángela.

Thank you for writing and for your keenness to help support us. Unfortunately I’m not able to sort out problems with Paypal, especially with their system for addresses. People in Mexico have made donations and purchases from our online store, so I know it’s possible — I just can’t tell you how they did it!

I think the simplest solution to all these problems is if you log into your Paypal account (I’m assuming you have one, but if not, here’s the link), click on the “Send money” tab, and then enter sales@wildmind.org as the recipient. You can enter any amount you want, and because it’s the Mexican version of Paypal I’m sure it’ll be in pesos.

All the best,
Bodhipaksa

I have really found this course helpful, thank you.
I would like to donate and understand that a regular donation is possibly more useful for you, however I’m not sure how the conversion thing would work (I’m English and would donate stirling)
Please advise
Thank you
With Metta,

Hi, Catherine.

First, thank you for sharing that you’ve found what we do to be helpful. It’s always encouraging to hear such things.

As for donations, there’s no problem at all. Our recurring donations work via Paypal, which automatically converts from sterling to US$ (or vice versa). I live in the US and donate each month to a UK charity, and it works very smoothly. There’s also no conversion fee.

All the best,
Bodhipaksa

Your 100 Days of Lovingkindness series really touched me. I have set up a monthly PayPal of $10 per month. That is not one of your preset options, so I thought you should let people know if they click on the one time Donate button, there is still a tick box option at the top to make whatever amount they choose become a recurring monthly donation. So no one is limited to the pre-set amounts in your dropdown box.
Warm good wishes,
Melanie
