LA Daily News: I barely have time to exercise. How can I add meditation to my daily routine?
Eric Harrison has heard that complaint before. He demonstrates in “Flip the Switch” (Ulysses Press; $10.95) that even the most hectic schedule has room for spot meditations.
- Do some deep breathing in the car at a red light.
- Focus on relaxing different parts of the body while standing in line at lunch.
- Intersperse meditation exercises between reps at the gym.
- Even mundane activities such as folding laundry provide ample opportunity to clear the mind.
Harrison, director of the Perth Meditation Centre in Australia, offers 40 spot meditations that can be done in less than five minutes. Now that’s multitasking.
