Thank you for becoming a sponsor of Wildmind’s Community-Supported Meditation Initiative!

You will soon have access to:

  • All of Wildmind’s existing meditation courses (of which there are around 30).
  • Access to all of my new meditation courses that are run through Wildmind (there’s a new one in the works).
  • An online community where we can discuss our practice
  • A monthly newsletter with meditation downloads, and articles that are only for sponsors.

We add new subscribers manually, but we usually manage to do that in less than 24 hours. Once we’ve added you you’ll receive a welcome email reminding you of how the initiative works, and an hour later you’ll receive a copy of the most recent Community Newsletter, which gives you access to our online courses and the supporters’ community.

Love,
Bodhipaksa

Thank you Bodhipaksa for keeping me in the loop and making this affordable even for those of us on the poverty side.

    • Thank you for your support! It’s wonderful that this mutually beneficial arrangement actually works. Back in the spring of this year I had written a long post explaining why I was giving up teaching meditation, but I’m very glad that the idea for this initiative came to me, since I love teaching meditation and Dharma, and seeing how it benefits people, more than anything else. It’s fortunate that I never had to publish that post.

  • To me meditation means opening the divine within. We all are God, but we are unconscious of our divinity. Meditation helps us to look within and contemplate. I hope your teachings will reflect this thought.

  • Just subscribed after doing the 28 days of „Finding Calm in a Crisis“ , which I found really helpful. Thank you Bodhi.

I am considering taking out a subscription to the Bodhi Mind App as well, but I am not exactly sure how the two relate to each other. Could you clarify a bit? Thanks!

    • Hi, Alexandra. Thank you for becoming a sponsor. It’s greatly appreciated. The Bodhi Mind app is a separate project from Wildmind’s meditation initiative. I know most people would assume they should be connected, but there are practical reasons why they can’t be, which include the fact that we don’t have an Android app (so that most people couldn’t benefit from Bodhi Mind if it was included in the initiative).

The app offers only access to audio recordings. The Initiative gives access to material that I’ve written in addition, and a community space online. They’re really quite different things.

There’s certainly an advantage to subscribing to both, if the expense isn’t a problem. With the app there’s a large library of recordings that are just there all the time. With the Initiative the material is delivered in a daily email as part of a structured course. There’s more structure and context, but less freedom.

  • Thank you very much for the explanation. Seen this way, it really makes sense to have both.

    • Thank you so much, Carol. I simply wouldn’t be able to spend my time teaching meditation if it wasn’t for this kind of support.

  • I’ve just finished the 28-day “Finding Calm in a Crisis” meditations, which have been very helpful. The body scan (#11) especially has been a lifesaver for me in these anxious times. I’ve had the app for a while, but it was clearly time to subscribe to the initiative. Thank you for all you do! :)

    • Thank you for your support, Linda! We had a few new people sign up yesterday who had been on a meditation workshop I’d led. I’d at first assumed that you were one of the workshop participants. It’s good to hear that you came through the “Finding Calm In a Crisis” course, and that you found it helpful. Welcome aboard!

  • Hello Bodhipaksa, I hope you are well. I have subscribed and I look forward to access to more teachings. I’d like to thank you for personally teaching me the Six Elements practice all of those years ago as it became the basis for me when I started teaching meditation as an Associate Minister for my temple, Shingon Shu Hawaii. I still refer to your direct teachings often. You are a wonderful teacher that I have learned a lot from. In Gassho, Rev. Jeff Hoji Keller

    • Hi, Jeff.

It’s lovely to hear from you again. I hope you’re doing OK in these challenging times.

I am doing pretty well, thanks. My main challenge at the moment is to practice self-kindness by not taking on too much and by working at a moderate pace.

Janice, if she hasn’t done so already, will soon get you set up. I hope you enjoy the material that’s on offer this month. I’m enjoying putting together the course called “A Love as Deep as Life (Rebooted).” The course participants seem to be enjoying it as well.

      Much love,
      Bodhipaksa

  • Bodhipaksa, I participated in 2 of your online retreats this past spring (with the Pacific Northwest Triratna sanghas). I found both of those retreats extremely helpful in my meditation practice. I just subscribed and am really looking forward to it. Thank you for setting up this initiative!

  • Funny how I came across you. I was sorting out boxes of books that were given to me several years ago and your book Wildmind was in there. Read a couple pages, loved it, Googled… and here I am. Just joined and looking forward to developing a regular practice.

  • Hi, I’ve been following your website for many years now and have also read your book on meditation which is excellent. With the new world of zoom and online communication I now feel more open to meditating online and would like to know more about your daily zoom meditations. I live in England but through the wonders of technology now belong to the wonderful Killaloe sangha in Ireland. I look forward to being part of an even larger sangha through your meditation initiative.

  • Your Politics as a Spiritual Practice Course has prompted a long ambition to intersect with Wildmind since doing a retreat with you in Sydney. Thanks so much for being there and meeting this desperate need. In Australia, we’re coming up for an election soon, it’s already a quagmire in my mind. Perfect timing. Australia is an infant following the tendencies and approaches of the US so, although distressing, lots to absorb.

  • I am really looking forward to receiving your teachings. I recently reconnected with your material through Insight Timer and your website in the course of researching for my own path in learning to be a mindfulness meditation teacher under Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. Your clear and straightforward approach is helpful to me both as a practitioner and a budding teacher.
